Once again sorry for the late update, it has been a busy day, mostly trying to catch up on sleep we both did not get last night. The crossing of the Gulf Stream was all it was promised, lots of wind, really big seas, rain and though not directly over us we were surrounded by thunder storms.  As we said before uncomfortable (very understated)but not unsafe.

We are currently sailing toward Montauk Point, about 90 nm away from our present position. We are at 39^40.621 North and 071^22.487 West.  We are both wearing winter cold weather gear. Charlene was right bringing all her Arctic clothes. It is at least 30 degrees colder here since we exited the Gulf Stream early this morning. Not bad during the day but awful at night. Charlene just told me she is wearing 3 sets of long underwear, 4 pairs of wool socks, a heavy sweater, jeans, boots and cold weather foul weather gear. Wool watch cap and mittens too. She is still cold.  I believe I heard her mumble something about people who live in New England and go sailing must be nuts!

It should be the last night of our trip as we expect the weather to remain cold and clear and should arrive sometime tomorrow in Mystic.
